Heavy Equipment Operator -
Environmental Restoration LLC is a provider of cost effective hazardous wastes material management and removal services. Our services include Emergency Response, Site Remediation, Environmental Construction, and Specialty Technical Services. Since 1997, we have been a remediation contractor for federal, state, local agencies and private sector clients, providing services nationwide from our St. Louis corporate headquarters and from our 19 regional offices located across the United States. ER is 100% employee owned and operated. 
Under general supervision, the Equipment Operator must be proficient in heavy equipment operation relating to earthmoving activities, including but not limited to, support of remediation activities, underground storage tank removal, soil excavation, backfilling, waste bulking, and/or demolition services, in accordance with established company policies.
 
Equipment Operators will work on-site at project locations which typically include abandoned warehouses, buildings or outdoor areas. The work environment is usually dirty, dusty, and noisy, containing hazardous or potentially hazardous substances and/or materials and is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions. Work includes handling hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment. The applicant must be available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends. Frequent travel is required
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of environmental project experience, excellent references, and the demonstrated ability to perform the following daily functions: 
 
Operate various types of heavy equipment including excavators/dozers/backhoes
Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear.
Operate routinely used tools and equipment
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
Load and unload equipment from vehicles, and trailers
Hazardous Waste Operations
Complete required paperwork, forms and records as required
Have an excellent driving history
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and physical exam.
Legally eligible to work in the United States (Verified through E-Verify)
Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
Able to wear a respirator
 
Construction industry experience, environmental experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), CDL and equipment maintenance experience a plus.
